I am relatively new to building and have been using Fuji New Concept Alconite guides. I was wondering about how much weight difference is there really between the Alconite and the Hardloy. Using a 9 guide casting rod as an example or if somebody has an idea on any compartive rods. Thanks, Ron Re: Guides and Weight

That's hard to say without weighing them but it just seems to me like the Alconites are lighter. The rings seem slimmer anyway. Certainly any of the Fuji guides with the new concept frames are thinner and lighter. Re: Guides and Weight

Well when you consider the blank wt ie: Lamiglas model xc84mh 7' casting blank come's in at 3.25 oz add reel seat, cork, epoxy, all of you underwraps along with over wraps , the weight of your guides unless you are wading the flats, with extra fast lure working for 12 stright hours . you will never notice your guide weight change to a s-glass blank double the blank weight i bet you could not tell me weather you have Hardloy or Alconite guides . just my 2 cents worth . tight wraps .....John T Burford Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
