Hi..... this is my first post to this forum. I'm a hobbyist rod builder, and I'd like to try my hand at a cane rod using a pre-made blank (I'm a long way from making my own). I'm looking for a source of good quality bamboo blanks, preferably with ferrules already fitted. Does anyone have experience with the IZCH (sp?) blanks sold by Mudhole? Is there presently a source of Partridge blanks, or are they no longer available? Anyone else making cane blanks? Also, what is the best way to shim a cane blank for the reel seat, considering its hex shape? This is a great forum. Thanks to all the sponsors and participants for making it available. I've used blanks by Dewey Hildebrand. He is a great builder and one of the nicest guys in the business. I've recommended his blanks to others and so far everyone has been very pleased. His email is dwhildebrand@worldnet.att.net Best Fishes, Mark Re: Bamboo blanks

I carry some of the best Bamboo Blanks made today. The Blanks are made by Hal Bacon former owner of the Payne Rod Comapnay. Hal make blanks for the Leonard Rod Comapny and they sell for over 2,000 on todays market. Hal Bacon was trained by one of the best bamboo builders in the world, Wes Jordan at the Orvis Rod Company. My Blanks are made in the USA, I only carry the best blanks on todays market. I also sell A.J.Thramer Blanks and they are made in the USA. You can check out my blanks at www.davesrods.com If you have any questions feel free to email me.. Thanks Dave's Rods Re: Bamboo blanks

Jeff at Platte River Rods sells cane blanks. He is one of the sponsors of this site. I have seen his finished cane rods and they are gorgeous; very clean and crisp. I have not cast one yet...I suspect I will be the proud owner of one of his blanks quite soon after I do so. Re: Bamboo blanks
