Hello Alex,
I absolutely love the custom handle on my Edge Rods First Strike. What would a guy have to do to get those released? I have the Kickstarter rod with the Weeble style seat and very ergonomic carbon handle (not simply tapered). It is my favorite handle on any rod period. I beg you to consider bringing it over to the NFC side. Thank you! Re: Edge Rods / NFC - Weeble Reel Seat

The offset angles involved in boring the rear grip and cutting it to fit the reel seat made the original cork grips a bit more expensive to produce. I found tube grips were much easier to do with all that interior room. The arbor against the reel seat is easy to do on tube grips, just put it in place and use the reel seat as a guide to bore the correct offset hole. As you know the rear arbor or grip bore is centered as normal, offset approx. 3/8 inch toward the trigger on the side that matches the reel seat. Re: Edge Rods / NFC - Weeble Reel Seat

@Rob Carey I've made the same request a few times in the Facebook group, never get a response.
I can't bore and turn cork or anything like that so DIY is out of the question for me Building rods in MA, Building the community around the world Re: Edge Rods / NFC - Weeble Reel Seat

Bummer, it is the best handle. I'd pay good money. Re: Edge Rods / NFC - Weeble Reel Seat

Rob,
We make it available for folks that go through our advanced rod building class - the main issue is that the reel-seat comes in one size, the rod builder would have to have a lathe or a set of carbide and fluted reamers to open that seat up for their desired OD. We dont have the capacity to do that for folks, we also don't want them to hurt themselves doing it (a few of our rod builders have scars to prove it) Finally, its an offset real seat, 11 1/2 degrees, the rod builder would need to ream their cork/eva/carbon grip at that angle to have a proper fit - they would need to make a jig, we show how they can do that in the class. Best, Aleks Re: Edge Rods / NFC - Weeble Reel Seat

Like I said, a Black Widow type hollow tube rear grip is the way to go for ease of use, the original Wiebe seat came in 3/8 inch hole with 9/16" OD slots in the material so your reaming has someplace to go, and a 9/16 hole seat which was your maximum cut allowed without removing your trigger since the hole is offset to that side. I put a picture of a 9/16 inch factory bored reel seat in my pictures, the smaller size has 4 slots to this size for reamer particle clean out and epoxy space ensuring a good bond. What is the best way for us to find those products? Thank you, Rod Hartzog Re: Edge Rods / NFC - Weeble Reel Seat

Aleks,
Thank you for the reply. Question, is that material harder than say an ECS? I ream those to fit all the time. I would think as long as they are prehdeilled, I could ream the grip and seal the the diameter I need. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
