Looking for the best transition to bring the cork tape to the blank. Would shrink wrap be an option? It would also have to go to the reel seat. I know its a newbie question but I'm just not sure about it. Thanks! Re: Cork Tape to blank??

I use three different methods to transition cork tape. 1. Srink wrap ( not the best looking, but very functional.) --I use srink wrap to cover the cork tape when I secure my reel with clamps; not using a reel seat.-- 2. Turks head knot tied with butt cord and covered with finish. 3. Tapper the tape at the transition to the blank and coat lightly with 5 min. epoxy - tappering is not necessary at the reel seat-- Sand the epoxy smooth after it cures. Wrap your thread over the epoxy and down onto your blank. Coat the threads as normal. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
