Building my first slow pitch rod, it is 6'6' 100-250g. What size reel seat is recommended for a spinning rod and should the guide train start with a 30mm ring? Muskyfsh Re: Slow pitch build

Jeff - IMO it depends on the reel. My personal SPJ Spinning set up was built around Shimano Twin Power 5000, I have a size 18 seat...the SPJ blanks typically are small OD, so use a reel seat thats comfortable and that fits the reel of choice nicely. I use a Double Foot 30...I either use the AT Tiforge Titanium Pentalite (PITDF) [mudhole.com] or the Fuji K Series Titanium SiC (TKWSG) [mudhole.com] (These are titanium options, if your budget allows it...)...I havent had good success personally using Aluminum seats on SPJ either just an FYI. Good luck! Kind Regards, Brook Oliva Mud Hole Custom Tackle, Inc. brook@mudhole.com (866)-790-RODS Re: Slow pitch build
