If you are shipping 1 piece fishing rods - be aware of a major pricing change with UPS effective 10/21/24.

Effective 10/21/24, UPS now charges any oversized shipments (one dimension over 48") a minimum weight of 40#. This caused us an estimated increase of as much as 70% on rod shipments for us. I had the drop on this and have been in contact with our UPS rep and the corporate office for the past 11 days about the impact, mitigating it, etc. Unfortunately, they don't care. They posted the change on their website 2 weeks ago but are not proactively informing customers. Corporate suggested we handle it - which is to pass it to the customer.

Part 2 - Effective 12/24/24 there is an average price increase 5.9% average increase impacting all transportation costs.

Additionally on 1/27/24, they are redefining calculated dimensions for AHC (additional handling charges), but they are unable to say what those new calculations will be and how they will impact what we ship.
