They didn't wrap as easy as the fuji's. The guide foot is a bit taller on them, but it wasn't difficult. I was using size D thread, they may have been more difficult to get started towards the tip with size A, especially on a really small diameter tip. I didn't prep the feet as I was unsure about doing it with the new material. If I could go back in time, I'd prep the feet same as any guide that needs it and wrap them with A.

I don’t see anything with the Torzite vs. Atlas choice that sways me to changing from Torzite. That’s probably the same for someone willing to spend more for what looks to be the latest in technology. When comparative weights were provided, the differences were so minor that the filling of the thicker guide tunnels could eat it all. I prefer the Fuji ring material and have lots of positive experience with it in harsh conditions like rods laying along the sides of a 16’ aluminum boat where halibut are being landed (there’s only so much you can do to protect in so little space). Even in a promotion a few weeks ago, the Atlas Guides carted out about 35-40% more for me. I just couldn’t spend that over something that’s already expensive and extremely nice. A few times of that and the cost of an entire build has been spent, and for what?

It falls in between a fuji KB and KT. You can compare the foot a fuji KB in the photos i posted on page 1.

I'm with you Kendall, I was more curios about the tip tops since a fuji arrowana is like 20 bucks or whatever and the Atlas Tip top is like 5.

If they could price the rest of the guides that competitively I bet they would generate an influx on converts from Ti and draw some people who only get ss Kb KT to spend a bit more for the Atlas. Priced so similar to the Ti, I think many people feel the same as you Kendall.

I agree, I couldn't do the Atlas tip top on that build as they have such limited sizes.

I went ahead and ordered the Atlas 20H, 10H, and 6L to try them out on a future spinning build. I use Atlas for the KR Reduction train then transition to Fuji T2 Sic for the belly and runners. I had a coupon, so it helped out. I have two spinning rods built on C6O2 blanks I used Fuji Torzite on. Bought the Torzites when NFC had their 40% sale. I’ve been wanting to compare the Atlas spinning guides to Fuji Torzites and Sic’s. I only splurge on guides when building on C6O2 blanks. Probably not necessary, but I do.

Atlas spinning guides mirror the height of Fuji’s spinning guides. Not exactly the same, but VERY close. Won’t be an issue using the KR Concept software. I mainly use bait caster reels 90% of the time, but I enjoy building spinning rods more. Not sure why ???????.
