Are FUJI gold frame guides corrosion resistant? In the past gold frame guides have corrodes badly while using in saltwater. Re: Fuji gold frame guide corrosion

I’ve not seen Fuji advertise a newer ionic process based gold finish for their guide frames. I didn’t find it in a search I just tried. The traditional, brass-based gold finishes aren’t good around saltwater because they contain zinc. Zinc is very rust resistant in air and air containing freshwater, but not good in a salty or acidic electrolyte. It goes from being a great rust preventer to becoming a great sacrificial anode in the presence of saltwater. Re: Fuji gold frame guide corrosion

Or ones with very low corrosion potential that are powder coated your choice of color I custom color titanium (anodized) and stainless (powder coat) guides for rod builders. Pac Bay used a Ti plasma coating instead of the norm above, their finishes would probably hold up better, I haven't tried their TiGold but my TiBronze guides have held up well. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
