To address those concerns, I would probably go full length arbor underneath the CF insert. No "wallowing out" Re: SPJ (slow pitch jigging) blank reviews

No > "wallowing out" Ted - what do you mean by full length arbor? The fuji foam arbor is a full length arbor underneath the CF insert. But its also not the toughest material and the concern is that with repeated deep flexing of the blank into the reel seat area it will compress and degrade the arbor material over time. I have considered tape arbors but that would be a lot of tape to build up from an ~8mm blank to a carbon insert with ID ~14.7mm Re: SPJ (slow pitch jigging) blank reviews

That's not that thick an arbor. 3 and a bit mm thickness.
Effectively, gluing the insert, blank and arbor together makes a composite laminated tube. It would take a @#$%& of a lot of bending over a very short length to damage the arbor the way you describe. Re: SPJ (slow pitch jigging) blank reviews

Thanks very much again Patrick, makes perfect sense. I've switched just about every build over to cf grips, this one should be interesting! Again, I appreciate your help! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
