Looking for possibpe blank recomendations / input.
I live in central NC. Almost all my fishing is lakes / rivers , and my rods are built accordingly. Mainly target catfish, and use a series of 8 glass rods I built every weekend.
If I do go to the coast, I generally would just take one of my catfish / carp spinning rods ( 7 and 8) and fish from one of the piers.
However - in a month I am going to the OBX for a surf drum event.
I plan to use a pair of ABU 6500 reels - dropping them off this week to have them cleaned , have the levelwind removed , and basically hotrodded.
Rods - one hand says just got buy a pair of BPS 12 surf rods for the cheapest price , for a 3 day trip and leave it simple.
Other hand is since I started building rods , Ive only used rods Ive built. Casters , spinners and fly.
I do not get fancy. Its utilitarian but clean for me.
Anyone have a recommendation for a budget friendly 2 piece 12 blank, that would mate well with a 6500?
If Im going to build them, given my recent shipping experiences , I need to ge them ordered now.
