Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm brand new to this and really appreciate the advice given in this group.

What is the easiest way to make sure I'm putting guides on straight? I was given an old rod that was missing all the guides. For now I'm just eyeballing it lol

Seeking Advice: Can CRB Rails be used with Flex Coat 36v Wrapper or Only G2 Power Wrapper?
Posted by: Custom Rod Builders FB Post (Moderator)

I hope I'm not wearing everyone down with my questions, but this is the only site that participates and gives straight answers. I have CRB rails. Is the G2 the only power wrapper I can use? I was looking at the Flex Coat 36v wrapper. Is this any good and can I use it? What other options are there for me?

Seeking Guidance on Font Licensing for Rod Decals - Free vs Paid Versions
Posted by: Custom Rod Builders FB Post (Moderator)
Date: September 30, 2024 02:21PM

Good morning everyone..I have a question about fonts for decals and hoping for some guidance..Im new to rod building and have barely 3 rods under my belt..hoping to make this a side hobby..been using dafont website to download fonts for the rod decals..I just finished building one for personal use and found a font I really liked in the dafont website but when I downloaded it, there was an extra Microsoft word document attached to it explaining to me thats its only for personal use and included a website to purchase full version..my question is, do I need to purchase the full version if I were to sell some rods in the future using this font or can I use the free version provided by dafont? Dont want to get into any legal issues in the future. Any input will be appreciated..thanks!

Advice Needed: Using Color Preserver on CRB Metallic Thread for UV Protection in Fishing Rod Construction
Posted by: Custom Rod Builders FB Post (Moderator)

Can you put color preserver on crb metallic thread? If so does it dampen the metallic nature of it?

I built a rod with prokote and crb metallic thread. That sits exposed to heavy UV most the summer in puget sound and it color bleached within a summer. Any tips would be appreciated as I plan to do another salmon trolling rod soon
