NFC CB 705/706 Zentron Blanks

Has anyone or built on the NFC Delta CB 705 or 706 Zentron blanks? I am wanting to try fishing chatterbaits on a moderate fast crankbait rod and these rods are on my short list to try. The other rod that I am considering is the Rainshadow REVCB70H. I have the REVCB76HM and can't believe how light it is. I should put my chatterbait reel on it and see how that rod performs before possibly buying the REVCB70H. Obviously the big difference between the Rainshadow and NFC is the NFC rods are hybrid composite while the Rainshadow is all graphite but looking on the blank comparison chart, the REVCB70H bends all throughout the blank while the NFC CB 706 primarily bends at the tip.

The Delta CB 705 is a great mini max blank but is underpowered for full size chatterbaits. The CB 706 should be a better choice.

Also consider the APFG lineup. I have seen the APFG 745 gets recommended for chatterbaits.

All that being said, the xray neo mb765 is, hands down, the best chatterbait blank i have built or fished with (production rods included).

Cut it to your size preference (i like it around 87"). Its a phenomenal blank.

Agree with Patrick. I have a neo mb765 cut down to 6’11” that I use for 3/8-1/2oz chatterbaits. It’s an excellent blank for them to the point I have zero desire to search for a better stick for the technique. Just my 2 cents. That being said, I have also seen the cb706 recommended by others.

CB705 is an awesome crankbait blank, but not powerful enough for chatterbaits IMO.

The CB706 is a good, but not great, chatterbait blank...It's a little too powerful (1000g IP). But it makes for a good small treble hook swimbait rod (like 5" bullshad and similar).

The NEO 765 cut to your preferred length is the 'best' IMO. Right action, right power, sensitive, and lightweight.

Thanks for the info all. I ended up adding the 765 neo to my order instead of the Delta 706cb.
