Hi all.

I'm looking to find a company to make decals for my custom rods. I'd like to make my own design with my own logo, in color. Are there any companies that can make high quality, color, custom decals?
I have always used Decal Connection, which has been amazing! They make an awesome product. I'm don't get the impression they do custom logo and graphic decals.

They do. I have a decal for my own rod series. I sent them a jpeg of what I wanted, size requirements and they did it without any issues. What they won’t do is use art or pictures that you don’t own the rights to.

I take this to mean that if I took a picture of the decal on an old G Loomis rod of mine, and wanted them to make an exact copy of it, that they wouldn't legally be allowed to do so?

I'm restoring the rod, and the finish over the decal is extremely yellowed. I'd love to make the rod look as if it just came off the shelf.

My experience with that stems from a customer who wanted a pair of fly rods that had the logo of a professional sports team, national level team. This customer had a logo design that incorporated the teams logo, which I was told by Decal Connection, that I would need a permission letter from the team to use their logo in the one he wanted, then they could make the decal. Team would not allow it. There are decals out there for sports teams that could be placed on a rod, but this guy wanted something unique using their logo.

In your case, I would call Decal Connection or email them and ask about the Loomis decal.

I have used them on several custom decals. In typical Decal Connection fashion, the work was exceptional.

Generally, any trademarked or copyrighted logo can't be legally reproduced. You could ask G.Loomis, Inc. for their permission and explain what you're wanting to do. In some cases, if you're not intending to sell the item that you are applying the decal to, they might, just maybe, grant permission.

Not sure about G Loomis, but I believe NFC uses Decal Connection at least in some capacity. Decal Connection told me they could send me an NFC decal with the rod length changed if I decided to cut it shorter.

Bill, thank you for the response. I appreciate it. And I had planned on contacting Decal Connection and asking them. Was just putting a feeler out, and it seems to be what I was expecting.

But all they can say is no, so I'm going to try and find out who I would have to send such a request to.

Will thank you for the response as well. Appreciated as well ....... I find potential in what you posted about Decal Connection saying they would send you a decal with a custom length on it. Not for my particular need referenced in this thread, but for the potential of them possibly doing a NFC decal in a different color, and with slightly larger font.

I'll definitely be dropping them a line with a few questions. I may be a bit proactive and send an email to Alex and get his feelings on a custom decal using the North Fork Composites logo.
