Does anyone have information on the Minima F Titanium weights(TF3XG, TKF4KG)? The SS version weights I've easily found but nothing on the titanium versions and PacBay did not answer the question just sent me their 'newest' 2020 Catalog.
Titanium is of course significantly lighter than stainless but with no information on any frame changes which could be necessary depending on the alloy don't know if it will be significant. This use will be for freshwater usage so corrosion resistance isn't necessary. Re: Minima F Titanium Weights?

There aren't any frame changes unless you buy the wide foot versions. This is not only relevant to the "F" guides. Re: Minima F Titanium Weights?

Spencer,
Do you have weights for the titanium versions? Looking at if worthwhile for a few lighter line weight fly rods, at least tip sections, and have been requested to look at single foots. Mike at SnakeGuides believes their single fooots will be up and running soon but are stainless steel. Re: Minima F Titanium Weights?

No, I don't have weights on those alone, but back in the day Pac Bay was at a rod building get together at Lamiglas, along with Am Tack, Batson, U40, Snake Brand guides and others. Pac Bay had some guides kits put together of their Minimas in various materials, the owner let me weight a SS and Ti set of identical guides and the difference was easily noticed when you picked them up and, on the scales, 24% was the difference on that set of guides. One of the things I learned when weighing guides is that sometimes you have to have a lot of them to repeatedly and reliably get a good value, as many as 20 of each, gets spendy if you don't use a lot of a particular kind. I have weights for Minima TF3XG-04W. I weighed 7 at the same time and came up with an average weight of .1108 grams
I weighed a single TF3XG - 5. It weighed .107 grams. The W has a wider foot and a bit of an arrow head look to the end of the foot. The 5 has a more slender foot, without the arrow head thing at the end of the foot. Re: Minima F Titanium Weights?

David/Spencer.
Thank you at about 24% weight savings you've both gotten for light tips will be worth going to. Still no answer from PacBay and I asked them to weigh multiples both for a good average and to assure enough weight if their scales were not up to the task of smaller weights. Although I had already found them the Representative didn't even have the SS version weights available. Don't expect to use W versions now as slender blanks where wider feet would need LOTS of shaping and the 5 ring at 4.3mm ID is sufficient. Len Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
