I've used the HT A metallic as the second wrap on about 40 rods up to and including 80# trolling rods and have yet to see a failure. I do coat each layer of thread with finish however- Re: Gudebrod Threads

Hi. HT Metallic thread from Gudebrod has the same breaking strength as corresponding nylon A & D thread. I use it as Jim K described and have not had ant problems.
