Hardy rods

Just fished a buddies 12wt 1 piece Hardy fly rod today. Very impressed by it and was wondering, does Hardy make their own blanks, and are they for sale to the public? I did some research but nothing really came up but their own rods. I know 1 piece 9' rods are hard to come by now, but wow the power.

At one time they rolled their own blanks. They may still be doing that but I have not kept up with them in a few years.

You might be interested in a documentary, The Lost World of Jim Hardy.
History of House of Hardy.

When they got into Fiberglass, J Kennedy Fisher supplied blanks at first, then Fisher set up a rolling facility in England, Hardy went on to roll their own stuff, both Glass and Carbon, but once the company was sold, blank production was taken over to Korea, not sure of the date exactly, somewhere after 2000, maybe.

The documentary mainly centers around Jim Hardy, the last family member involved in the business. Bamboo, Salmon Flies, Reels, Glass and Carbon are all covered over the years. It’s worth a watch.
