Rogue Rod Blanks?
Posted by: Tony Hill (---)

Greetings all.

Years ago, when G.Loomis was going through some changes, some of their family members started a company called Rogue. They made a VERY nice blank, similar to a GLX series. I got one to try, a MB 844, and it's still one of my fav blanks.

Life got busy and I stopped building and fishing much, but now I would like to dust off the equipment and get back into it.

Does Rogue still exist? Are G.Loomis blanks still available? I thought they went to only selling complete rods, but not sure.

I know I could do a Google search, but this is the most knowledge packed place I know of when it comes to rod building, so I figured I'd just ask and the correct information.

Thanks.

Rogue is no longer around. GLoomis is now owned by Shimano and they only sell completed rods. North Fork Composites is owned by Gary Loomis and are the owner of this site. They sell blanks to rod builders directly from the factory. These are excellent high quality blanks, with many different models to choose from. They are listed to the left in the sponsor column.

Stryker rods started up with Rogue's equipment, your blank is still available.

As Spencer pointed out, the same blanks are being made on the same machines that made the original Rogue blanks.

I checked a year or so ago and at that time - a lumber company had taken over the property of the former Rogue rod building business.

Take care
