I have a nice Point Blank rod blank that got snapped in half during a move. It’s a 7’-6” medium rod and I have looked for a set of ferrules to make it a 2 pc rod but no luck. Any way to repair without affecting the action of the rod? The largest ferrules I have found are on Janns net and are size 21/22. The blank is .382 inches at the break.
Thanks Re: Broken Point Blank rod blank

Hello Bruce.
Michael is right, this should give you the information you need. [www.rodbuilding.org] Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines. Bob, New Bern, NC. Re: Broken Point Blank rod blank

Schneiders Rod Shop actually lists ferrule sets that may be what you need on their hot specials page. he has listed a 25/64 and a 24/25 /64 ferrule set. hope that helps. Re: Broken Point Blank rod blank

25/64 would be .390 so that might very well work. I’ve never installed a ferrule before. I assume there is something on U-tube to give me a jump start on research!!

I would not consider installing a set of metal ferrules on that rod. I don't think you will like the weight or the action. Better to sleeve it or get a warranty new blank and rebuild that. IMHO Re: Broken Point Blank rod blank

I also would not use a metal ferrule. My choice would be a graphite or fiberglass internal plug, or an external sleeve. However, such a repair requires a source of old blanks in order to find the correct sizes needed. Call Anglers Resource and check on warranty procedures.

I would just warranty it. I broke my PB 7'6 MH. And they had me cut the section that broke and send it in. And I paid the replacement fee and they shipped out the new one. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
