OK, I've got to ask. What would you use the UHMW rods for? Re: Suppliers....

Oh Boy a new rod term - Ultra High Molecular Weight and a new material polyethylene. Doesn't sound like these will be light in the hand. Re: Suppliers....

Olt: A lot of bearing houses will stock UHMW rod (round bar) also look in your yellow pages under Plastics there will likely be a section for sheet and bar call them up and I am sure one will pass you on to the correct source. I use UHMW round bar or rod 1-1/8" - 1-1/4" OD to make rollers for rod lathes, putting a slot around the OD and fixing "O" rings as the running surface. Do you sell the roller? Might be a hot item. Re: Suppliers....

Olt: I can make up rollers to suit a specific situation. One of the main advantages of UHMW in sheet, rod or cast into any shape one wants (for a price) is it has an extremely high wear resistance and will not swell or expand under pressure.. It is used a lot as the running surface for high speed chain applications ie. canning, bottling and in the sawmills for running return chain on. Chains will wear out long before the UHMW in most situations. You don't require a bearing to run UHMW on a shaft in many applications - I run the wheel on the shoulder of an allen head shoulder bolt used as the shaft.
