Hi Everyone,
Getting closer to ordering parts for my first solo baitcasting rod and have hit a snag. I really love the look of American Tackle G2 Split handle grips. I am wanting to use a reel seat other than the G2 variants, specifically an Alps AGC Trigger Reel seat. I was wondering if I would be able to do this and what measurements (ID/OD etc) I need to know before ordering. I will be having a G2 trim ring from the kit in between the handle and reel seat. Any help would be very much appreciated. Re: Combining G2 Handle and Alps AGC Reel (Newbie)

Brian,
Look at it this way, would you sell more product if it was a universal fit so people/companies could mix and match to get the look they want, or if everything had its own size? You answered your own question, and the answer is yes. Re: Combining G2 Handle and Alps AGC Reel (Newbie)

That is reassuring to know. That wasn’t the case when I built my PC, so i wanted to be sure so I didn’t fork out 50 dollars for no reason. Re: Combining G2 Handle and Alps AGC Reel (Newbie)

Most companies give you the info right on their websites, or in their catalogs, the OD of components is right there to see. there are a few fliers, but the vast, vast majority of casting reel seats 16 to 20 mm are 27 mm approx. at the rear of the seat where it meets the rear grip be it carbon, cork, eva, etc. The AmTack 17 mm Aero spinning reel seat, a popular design also accepts the same rear grip size you are looking at in carbon, cork, eva, etc. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
