I haven't had the need to join pieces of Hypalon or EVA to create a custom grip. Epoxy is fine for gluing a grip to a handle; is it still the proper adhesive to join pieces of Hypalon, or is there a better choice?

I have always used Weldwood contact cement and never had a failure that I know of. We used it at work also to install foam/foil sound insulation inside generator cabinets and other foam adhesive needs. Re: Best adhesive

I've always used contact cement, not sure of the brand, but no problems ever. Re: Best adhesive

I'll agree with Spencer, i've used wellwood contact cement to join pieces then shaped them and had absolutely no problems at all. Although I didn't know there was an Hypolon adhesive out there. Fishing is not a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that Re: Best adhesive

The adhesive Roger suggests is a contact adhesive. It is formulated for Hypalon for optimum bonding, but for fishing rod grips it is an over kill.
Weldwood or equivalent contact cement as suggested will do the job. Have fun Re: Best adhesive

As Grant mentioned, I used two coats of Weldwood Contact Cement because the first coat looked like it wanted to soak into the hypalon. Second coat looked good, and when I turned it down (fighting butt with an inlay on a slow pitch rod) it looked great. Thanks for the help.
