Sad news indeed.

R.I.P. Jim.

I did not know him as well as I would have liked, but we have had several talks at the ICRBE.

Very sad news! Jim was a great guy and a good friend, I will miss him. He was diagnosed with leukemia, and was undergoing treatment the last time I talked with him. It was a return of the leukemia he was treated for over 25 years ago. Even though I knew he was sick the news is still a shock. My condolences to his family and friends, may he Rest In Peace.

Jim Ising was definitely a milestone in ANYTHING to do with fishing in general, Fuji in particular. His will certainly be difficult shoes to fill.

FISHING IS NOT AN ESCAPE FROM LIFE BUT RATHER A DEEPER IMMERSION INTO IT!!! BUILDING YOUR OWN SIMPLY ENHANCES THE EXPERIENCE.

I only knew Jim from his posts here. I have no doubt that what everyone is saying about him being a great guy, is more than true. No doubts he will be missed in any place he was known.

Definitely a bummer ...
