El, thanks, very interesting. Do you know if they pitched that multi taper point thing on blanks other than fly?

If MB means "mega bass" then it's most likely at least a fast action, most likely extra fast with a very strong butt and a relatively soft tip. A crankbait blank I recently purchased was called moderate fast and has an AA of almost 80 degrees. I have to admit it fishes well with cranks, but I don't consider moderate fast an accurate description of it. Some day we may get to the point where we have consistency with something like:

slow: less than 62 degrees

moderate:63-69

moderate-fast: 70-74

fast: 75-78

extra fast: 79 and above

There might be a better scale, but this is the philosophy of correlating the text descriptions with CCS numbers. So when you purchased a blank or rod you would have a pretty accurate knowledge on how it would perform. Come on, manufacturers, you don't even have to tell us that you're doing it, or what the exact numbers are. We will in time figure it out and you will have fewer complaints and we will get what we thought we were getting. I know that you all know the CCS numbers of at least most of your blanks/rods.

@MICHAEL - I only know for certain they absolutely market their casting rods and some spinning that way, this pic is supposed to offer some detail and comparison...

I would love to see your ccs and aa data with pics so I can visualize the road bend.
