Shimano 4000Fl reel

I picked up a Shimano 4000Fl reel recently that I thought was is essentially perfect condition. I decided to give it an overhaul (bad decision), and began with the line roller. Turns out the roller with all its components was frozen, and after soaking it with a penetrant, tried to remove it from its attachment to the bail wire, and it wouldn't budge. At that point I tried to coax it a little with the end of a screwdriver, and all I ended up doing was putting some little nicks in the roller.

I found a couple of YouTube videos on breaking down and reassembling this reel in a 3000 model, and they are both about 10 years old! So the reel is likely about that age. I would hate to have to junk this reel. I have looked in all the most common sites for parts, and so far no luck. Are there any sites with old reel graveyards out there where someone might be able to buy a klinker for parts by any chance? The reel is fine...less the nicks now in the roller!

Try dressing the nicks out of it.

Your best bet to get Shimano discontinued parts is to go on @#$%& and buy junk reels. I had a couple of reels with bad one way bearings that I tried to repair. Still didn't work consistantly. Found some old reels that I scavanged the parts from. Kels has the most Shimano parts and they'll most certainly have the line roller. They're in Orlando.
