Century surf rod layouts

I have three century blanks (SS1145, SS1267, SS1449) that I want to build out but need a little guidance. The purpose will be primarily for bait fishing from the surf with some lure casting with the 9 1/2 and 10 1/2 rods. All will be built as spinners. It’s been about 8 years since I’ve built any rods and wanted to know if anyone has a guide/ layout starting point for these blanks?

I would build them with a NGC type set-up, your choice which type. Just pay attention to choke and running guide sizes as they pertain to how well they'll pass any shock leader knots you choose to use.

There is an article on the NCG 27X method in the online library here. Anglers Resource has guide placement software for their NGC system on their website, link is near the top on the sponsor list.

What am I missing? From the AR page for NGC placement, Torque 5 and MN guides, for example, 40 at 16 inches, 30 at 25 inches, 25 at 33 inches is weird.

Gary, I don't believe there is a software program the NGC placement, there is for GPS, the KR guide placement, but that is a rapid choke system, different from the NGC.

Then try the GPS for me please. Packing 3 large guides in the first 33 inches is weird however you name it.
