I’m going to do a preservation / restoration on a vintage SouthBend bamboo rod.
What is the nearest product to Gudebrod color preserver? I an not looking for a latex based product. Re: Color Preserver

I been using Cason's Crystal Clear Color Preserver...it's not Gudebrod #111...but close.
Edit for Cason...not Carson. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/11/2022 01:01PM by Chris Catignani. Re: Color Preserver

I have been unable to locate a source for Carson products.
All my searches point to Merrick Tackle. MH does not list the product. Would you have a source? Re: Color Preserver

I found them. The company dissolved in 2011.
Thanks just the same. Re: Color Preserver

You might take a look at Al's Color Preserver. It was designed for bamboo rods.

I'll second the Al's Color Preserver, it works great on silk (which it is advertised for) but it will also give good results on Nylon. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
