Rodbuilding

Hey folks,

I am a novice rod builder and naive to the pros and cons of different blank materials. I believe the rods I am looking to replace a Penn squadron light extra fast 7ft rod with one of similar action. I've settled on two NFC blanks- all purpose fast glass and a classic freshwater xfast blank. I plan to use the rod with a 2500 reel with 6lb mono.

Just looking for opinions and info about the difference in blank materials along with blank suggestions beside those if you have them.

Thanks,
Will

If you are looking at the FW702-1 you have made a good choice, it will easily be a superior rod to your Penn if you do your part.
