Ok, what do you want to know? By the way I don't like Winn grips, they are throwaway grips that don't hold up under use, last thing I want to do is rebuild a rod because the grips don't hold up. Re: Three piece handles with winn grips

I agree with Spencer. Winn Grips are quite comfortable, but they just don’t hold up under heavy use. I spite of this some people just love them, and when they wear out they just replace them. It can be done easily from the butt without the need for removing guides or the reel seat. If you want to try something bullet proof try a carbon fiber grip.

Cork or carbon fiber, your choice. I like both, but prefer carbon fiber.

Look of corks wins out for me, but I admit to liking the feel of carbon and starting to use it more. Super easy to fit. Seems like all the manufacturers have started using less resin and different fabrics for a better feel.
Winn Grips. Well they feel great on golf clubs, but they don’t last. I don’t know if there is a different formula for reel seats or improvements in the past years. Re: Three piece handles with winn grips

I disagree regarding the durability of Winn grips. I have several rods with the Perfect Fit VSS spinning grip, some are I believe three years old. They get used heavily (freshwater) and show no signs of wear.
Winn did have a bad run of these grips in the larger VSS size recently. Those were anything but durable, but fortunately I caught it before installing. I'd like to hear more about specific examples of when Winn Grips didn't last because I had that concern initially. Turns out that concern was baseless, at least in my case. Anyway, I wholeheartedly recommend the Perfect Fit VSS spinning grips. Mount the long grip in front of the reel and try a KSKSS hooded nut in the rear - Perfect Fit makes a cover for it. Or the Fuji SKSS/ASH Nylon Hood Only w/Graphite nut if you prefer that feel. Both are great! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/08/2022 03:34PM by John Nesse.
