Date: January 05, 2013 06:04PM My home made dryer has two motors. One drives a cup which is set up to hold the butt end of a rod. The other motor is set up to hold an upper section of the rod. This drive system incorporates an all-thread coupler, into which a glue stick screwed. The glue stick is shaved into a rough taper onto which the female ferrule is mounted. The flexibility of the glue stick reduces the likelihood of the ferrule corkscrewing off while turning, which happened when I initially used a tapered wooden dowel.
