Looking for red and white alternating thread to refurbish old rod.

Obtain a spool of red thread.

Obtain a spool of white thread.

Start the wrap with both colors and a main color if there is one.

Keep wrapping, but only have the color you desire to show. Otherwise, just wrap over the other colors that are flowing up the wrap with the cover color.

Easy, and it is done every day.

However, since you are cutting off the wraps, I would also install new guides to end up with a better overall rod.

It appears to start with red. Follow the existing pattern or change it up to your liking. There are several methods for making a new wrap match the existing one. Start each color and tie it off when the desired width is achieved, Repeat until done.

It's called space dyed thread. Not all are spaced evenly, as one color can become a longer wrap. ( as in the photo : red is longer) I can send you a spool but you may have to re-wrap all the guides because the spacing may not be the same. Please email me your decision.
