Hello,

I am wanting to build a rod for open water 5/8 oz rapala jigging raps snap jigging for walleye. I have always gone with the Rainshadow lines and found the IMMWS68MXF which looked to be ideal. I do how ever want to try an American Tackle Bushido blank and was wanting some feed back on the DS69/8-15 for this application as this is what they recommended.

Thank you for any help on this!

Kyle

As long as the blank length works without you rod tip hitting the water I see no reason not to take their recommendation.

Im sure it will work. I'm am just trying to see if anyone out there has a comparison to say the Immortal, eternity, or even the rev blanks from Batson. Just trying to not build a rod and be disappointed and have it sit in the unused pile.

I have only trolled curly tails on a heavy 1/2 - 3/4 oz jigheads and I used a GUSA 70MHXF which was designed as a worm rod blank.

I have great respect for the Bushido Line. I have many different rods built on Bushido blanks and have nothing but good things to say about them!

If you're fishing with mono for these baits (I like mono for jigging raps) the Northfork MB 733-1 is awesome with the jigging raps. I cast and vertical jig the #7 jigging raps with it all the time and again, with mono, this rod keeps them pinned. I also like it with braid for snap jigging (e.g., 1/2 ounce hair jig) when I'm casting.
