Hi Everyone. I have a size 2 Aftco unibut. I am trying to fit a tiagra 50 onto it. I currently have it fitted but it doesn’t feel like a good fit. I have it as tight as I can get it with reel clamp on but still seems like it moves a bit under pressure. Can anyone confirm if a tiagra 50 fits an Aftco size 2? Any help appreciated

#2 unibutts are rated 30-50 pounds and the Ti50 is a pretty big reel. My Ti16 and Penn VSX30 both fit perfectly in a #2 butt and are tight even without the rod clamps. The reel feet of both reels are narrow enough to extend completely into the rod's hoods. It sounds like your reel's feet do not go far enough into the hoods but without photos or more description, I'm just guessing. Here's a statement from Mudhole's catalog regarding fitment;

*All #2 Unibutts and Storabutts feature hoods that will accommodate most size "80" reels

Thanks for your reply. According to that statement as size 80 tiagra will fit then? Mike is only a 50 so should be fine…
