I have planned to build using the NGC layout, but I found that this reel's angle is just too flat. So much so that the choke point is 2" from the tip. The spool diameter is only 1.82", but the axle is almost 4" from the center of the blank (3.5") from the reel seat. I'm up to a 30 KW and it's just a bit too close to the blank and sounds like it's constricting. I've done several test cast moving the 30 ring it in and out and I found that it likes to be about 21.5" to the face of the spool. Do I have any options over COF, of is that my best layout?

With the NGC the choke or first from the reel running guide would be at 27x1.82 or about 49" from the spool face not 2" from the tip. Perhaps 30, 20, 10, to your choke would work with the 30 where you found the least constriction. Re: IRT 3000? 7'6" Rod

Ross,
You are mistaking the NCG with the 27x system brought out by Tom Kirkman, you can of course use a combination of both to get the job done. Re: IRT 3000? 7'6" Rod

Here is what I thought was being referenced by NGC - [www.rodbuilding.org] Re: IRT 3000? 7'6" Rod

Thanks Ross, and Spencer,
I based my layout on the Fuji Guide Layout software, but if I follow the article the layout look significantly different, and It looks like ai had a least 1 too many guides, my 9 vs the current layout 7 +tip tip. It's getting a bit dark for test casting but tmorrow I'll repost to let you both know what else I find. secondary question anyone know of a, higher frame, double foot, nanoplasma (gold) ring, guides outside of ALPS, and AT, ore like KWs? I'm trying Back Creek but I don't know what their stock is like, my customer is ready to fish. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
