Welcome the P700 to the XRAY Lineup!

It's here! Our latest addition to the XRAY lineup!
We have fielded hundreds of emails in regards to a blank that is a bit lighter than a drop shot blank in power, a touch slower (moderate fast as opposed to fast or extra fast) in action can cast a 1/32 jig / tube a country mile, but be able to do the same with a very small crank...and boat flip a bass or horse in a speckled trout when needed. Please welcome the P700 to the NFC Xray Family!

For those looking for more stats:
Blank Length: 7ft
Blank Weight: 1.05oz
Power: Moderate Fast
Action: Ultralight
Butt Diameter: 0.390
Tip: 4.5
ERN: 5.70
AA: 65
Finish: Matte, Slightly Ridged

More information including the deflection can be found here:

Thanks for looking!

Aleks,
Thanks very much for the release of this blank.
I can already see many potential customers for this blank - in the world of midwestern walleye fishing. Perfect blank for many different applications when fishing for these fish that may often times be very negative and easy to spook fish.

Take care

It’s hard to beat the fun of catching big smallmouth and foot long bluegills with this class of rod, using tiny crankbaits and poppers. It’s got “the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Sylvania Wildernesses” written all over it.

Alex, how would you say it compares with the FW 702 power wise? I would imagine the FW 702 is faster action, but I could be wrong.

The FW 702 has an IP = 212.85 grams (ERN: 10.23) and an AA= 72. So, it’s more powerful and faster than the P700.

I can’t imagine this blank actually being able to boat flip any average size bass let alone a big one. Am I missing something here that this could even be plausible?

Would a broken rod from trying that be covered under warranty? I ordered a couple to build up, but if my brothers get their hands on them, I don’t doubt they will put that claim to the test.

I imagined this as a nice crappie blank.

Has anyone tested one of these out as a prototype that can give a review?

Thanks

Well Aleks did post a video from (IIRC) a Facebook page showing what looked to be an UL blank lifting a gallon jug of water in what anyone would call a :high stick" condition.

Always wondered what blank it was.

Everyone wants CCS numbers. I want dead lift numbers. Lamiglas is the only one I have seen post videos of breaking rods.
