Pardon me if this has been discussed earlier. I did a search, but couldn't find the answer I sought. I have been using Threadmaster Lite for years and years, through all its incarnations. This year, since Andy Dear's previous efforts were so good, I decided to try Gen4. Since I began using Threadmaster Lite, I have mixed the resin and hardener at 2 ml each. Works every time. Upon reading the instructions for Gen4, it says a minimum of 3 ml each. I understand that using larger amounts increases the margin of error WRT equal amounts being mixed together. That said, I am pretty meticulous when measuring. Is there a reason why I shouldn't use 2 ml each? When I'm applying finish to my guides, that is usually more than enough. Thanks for any help!

I’ve used as little as 1/2 ml each for the Gen4, and no problem curing. It seems like all of the epoxy manufacturers recommend at least 3 ml of each, but I rarely use that much unless I’m doing multiple rods. If you measure and mix carefully there should be no problem.

Thank you. While I not inclined to try .5 ml, I do occasionally drop down to 1.5 ml of each resin and hardener. This is good to know.

I generally use 1-2 ml of both Gen4 hardener and resin and have never had a problem

I am confident that the “3ml” rule is simply intended for the masses to provide a margin of error. You are obviously very careful and precise with your ratios and mixing and have had no issues, so keep doing the same thing.

Epoxy does not just cure overnight..it cuures for weeks maybe months and keeps getting harder..the harder it gets the better resistance to bumps and rubs..wraps stay newer longer,.two ml may appear cured but may not get as hard as they can..three ml. Has much better chance to fully cure..
