Good morning
I recently bought new blank and was looking to make king rod for pier fishing. The blank is Bushido model BA3k9 /12-25lb,1-4oz,mod-fast action and will be paired with certate 5000 reel.(its compact with spool 54mm=8.1/8"),and will use Shimano Grappler braid 0.19mm-30lb class I have few sets of fuji guides (alconite, dark titanium t2 sic, titanium torzite),and tiforge titanium pentalite by American tackle.Any set would work just to finish rod for my spring trip. I had in mind using 30kw-20kl-12kt-8kts to the tip, when I use x27 I get choke guide placed on 57.3/8",and I connect string from tip of the spool extended to the choke guide, the striper size 30 ends up being 16.3/8" from the tip of the shaft, and looks to close.I manage to put total of 9 guides. So I don't know if that's correct or not, perhaps I have not done something right. Any help would be greatly appreciate it. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 04/19/2022 06:29PM by Senad Katana. Take off the spool and line your string up with the shaft angle and see where the choke point is. 16 3/8" does seem too close. I would think 20"+ would be about right. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
