Has anyone heard of Erskine's Tournament Tackle out of Australia? I bought a rod this week and it has his name on it so I was trying to do some research on the builder. Seems like he's a pretty big name in Australia, but it's something I don't know anything about. If you guys have any info about this I'd really appreciate it!! Thank you!

Here are the pictures of it: [ibb.co]

Thank you again

Michael

He was a major player in the salt and offshore tackle market in Australia for many years. I think he started out building tackle and rods and then he sort of got famous and his name was licensed for use on a line of tackle from a major supplier.

I knew Jack. Not sure but maybe he visited looking for components at one time or met him at some AFTMA shows but I also visited him at his shop in Cairns in the mid-to-late ’90’s. He was into reel design/repair along with building custom rods for his market near the Great Barrier Reef. A lot of people who headed to that “big game” mecca would have crossed paths with him as well as those in the industry working on projects with him. I'd say he was a pretty big name in the fishing industry in general.
