7'3" or 7'4" flipping stick

I'm looking to build a new flipping stick for myself. I'm mainly a kayak angler as well, so I'm looking for a sub-7'6" blank for this build. Looking for a heavy power, mod/fast.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated. The only blank I've found so far is the FP885-MHX. I'm fin with this blank, but wanted to consider all options...

Thanks!

Email the new owner of this forum Aleks Maslov . They sell made in America NFC blanks. Or, just click on North Fork Composites to the left of this thread...

The FP885 is a nice blank. I doubt that you would go wrong building it up for your application. The action is right and it has plenty of power. Mine is trimmed down to 7’. Longer rods start to get in the way in my little boat especially if I have someone else onboard.

Matt,

Take a look at the NFC MB739 - it’s very popular for a flipping application -

If the MB 739 from NFC that Aleks suggested is anything like the MB 709 from NFC, you will absolutely love the rod you build on it. I have two rods built on the MB 709 IM blank, and I couldn't be more happy with the rods I have built on them

Awesome blank !!!

Thank you Aleks. I'm curious about the tip action on the MB739. I'm looking for something with a little softer tip than a typical extra fast. Hoping to find something similar to the tip on blanks used by Dobyns.

I highly recommend a Point Blank PB731HXF. Plus it will fit many other applications.
