American Tackle Ring Lock™ guides are designed for the ultimate in performance and durability. They incorporate a system of pressure fit, enlarged glue reservoir, and increased contact area around the ceramic ring to dramatically reduce ring failure. Added bracing and unique frame features greatly reduce ring popping lateral torque through a more stable frame. ATLAS 316SS™ frame material adds tremendous strength to the weight ratio giving this series of guides the edge to outlast and outperform all others.

Different ceramic materials used in different guide rings have different hardness, different flexibility and resistance to impact, and different weight. Where can somebody find a list of actual facts and/or comparisons about the physical characteristics of guide ring materials? Re: No more ring loss!!

Hello Phil.
Here you go, look at the chart at the bottom. [alpsforecast.com] Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines. Bob, New Bern, NC. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 04/15/2022 01:19PM by Robert A. Guist. Re: No more ring loss!!

Thanks, Robert. Looks like silicon carbide wins the guide hardness ribbon. The other quality of interest to serious rod builders is the guide ring's resistance to fracture, compared to other guide insert materials. Lots of advertisements for rod-building components but precious little information about their physical characteristics ? Re: No more ring loss!!
