Before I go buying a stick here and stick there, where do any of you guys find the firmest EVA material. Pre-formed or preferably straight bored stock? Thx. Re: Firmest EVA

Mike,
While I am more of a cork kind of guy, I will be following your topic to learn as well. Are you H-bent on EVA or is Hypalon or possibly other foams adequate? Firmness and durability are my paramount concerns. Mark Talmo FISHING IS NOT AN ESCAPE FROM LIFE BUT RATHER A DEEPER IMMERSION INTO IT!!! BUILDING YOUR OWN SIMPLY ENHANCES THE EXPERIENCE. Hypalon is a more durable material but it is also heavy and spongy compared to most EVA and I am looking for a very firm EVA for some light trout rods. Re: Firmest EVA

Mud Hole has some very firm EVA in bored un-shaped blocks. Remember that turning it at high speed creates heat that can soften it a bit. Use coarser grit or even turning tools to cut rather than abrade it and you'll keep the heat down.

The firmest I ever got was a wood grain pattern EVA from Mudhole several years ago. Russ in Hollywood, FL. Re: Firmest EVA

Janns netcraft has a couple of very firm eva components, a 3" middle grip and a 2 1/4" butt/fore grip i've been happy with. i've gotten some from mudhole as well that are excellent. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
