Terry: Just so! There are claims the power generated by fish-rods pushes sinkers, lures, and flies great distances. Actually, the claims state the rod pushes the line and the line pushes the sinkers, etc.

A person who accepts an advertisement which says or implies any rod is accurate or casts a long way - this person has been hoodwinked, but of course doesn't know it! Such ads are commonplace.

Yup, it certainly does. Nice catch. I recently saw a video of one of the most respected rod designers claiming a similar characteristic relative to the spine of a rod blank.
