As a hobby rod builder, I build 1 rod every year during the Winter months. What started out as a "Free rod parts give-away by Anglers Resource when you purchase a Point Blank rod blank" has turned into a love for rod building especially the Point Blank rods that I have recently built.

PB761MHXF (Frog, flipping/pitching, and pike favorite)
PB681MLXF (4" stick worm favorite,)
PB691MXF (Texas rig favorite)
PB701LXF (finesse favorite)

All my rods have become my go-to rods and are the first ones packed into the boat whether I bass fish in DE or fish for pike and smallies in Ontario.

Thanks Jim Ising for all your help with my PB questions. I'd also like to thank all the professionals on this forum for their help and guidance in building the light, most responsive rods I could build using the KR Concept. My friends are amazed at how light and responsive my rods are.

Last but not least - I like to Thank the man who started me on my rod building journey when he sent me an autographed copy of his book - Mr. Tom Kirkman. From surf rods to fly rods to bass rods to ultralight rods, and now Point Blank rods, your guidance has helped me build anything I want. Thanks again.

Wow , what a heart felt post . Even though I'm certain I had nothing to do with helping you myself it's great to read posts like this because so many forum members really do go out of their way to help their fellow man so I just wanted to say very well done on your part for expressing how you feel . Now as far as Tom goes what can you say that hasn't already been said ?

There's a very good reason why builders and anglers all over the world hold Tom in such high regard , it's not just because he's a pioneer in the rod building craft it's also because of his lifelong commitment & genuine compassion to help others that are far less knowledgeable and talented than he is. He's something special , no question about that .

I don't know if you're aware of this but Tom has been working on an updated version of his best selling book on rod building and since he will have more time now I'm sure once it's completed it will spawn a whole new generation of rod builders. I wish you much success in the coming years with your new Point Blanks .
