I assume you want to build a KR-like spinning rod using Minima Match (M) guides for the reduction train (16M, 8M, and 5M) and Minima Fly (F) guides as the running guides. If this is true than the guides you have selected will work just fine. However, I would use all size 4F running guides and add one or two more running guides, for eight to nine total guides. The size 16M based reduction train will work great for a 1000 size reel and light line. The NFC guide placement chart is probably based on using a standard handle length with a New Guide Concept (NGC) guide train, which traditionally uses larger guides than the KR concept. Thus, it’s only a suggestion for a starting point based on what they use for their production rods, which are usually a compromise so that multiple size reels and line can be used. So if you want to use a KR concept then ignore the NFC guide placement chart and use the KR GPS at Anglers Resource for your starting point. Most of the time I use one or two more running guides than then the GPS suggests. Doing this allows for progressive guide spacing and more evenly distributes the load along the rod length.

So basically your butt guide (16M) will be placed about 19” in front of the reel spool and the the choke guide (first running guide) will be placed about 20” in front of the butt guide. The other two reduction guides will be placed progressively between the butt guide and the choke guide. The remaining running guides will be placed between the choke guide and the tip top. Don’t be afraid to move the choke guide and/or butt guide in or out a little to get the spacing you like. Again the KRGPS gives a suggestion for a good starting point. Then do a two line static test to fine tune the guide placement. Finally, test cast to determine if the layout casts smoothly, quietly, and long.
