Curious as to it's UV properties, I exposed Gen4 on a white surface under California sun for two months. To date, not a hint of yelowing !! I am presently suprised ! Re: Another Kudo for Gen4

Phil,
Thanks for sharing your test results. While there are numerous factors to consider when attempting to discover the best finish FOR EACH, INDIVIDUAL BUILDER, yellowing (or more precisely the lack thereof) is certainly high on the list. I purchased quite a few different thread finishes to test, but my tests were more limited to the physical / working properties rather than UV stableness. While UV is a big factor in epoxy (hardener / catalyst) yellowing, oxidation can play a role as well. I always insulate my epoxy from UV by storing it / them in a cardboard box in a dark corner of the shop. As for yellowing (but not direct, extended UV exposure like your test), I have found CTS Crystal Coat to be the best with Flex Coat and Threadmaster the next inline, and put ProKote at the bottom due to receiving an order with the hardener already dark brown. I have viewed many reports of people’s praise of Gen 4 and will certainly give it a try. But I need to deplete my present stock of epoxy before they turn yellow (except for the ProKote which is almost black now).
