Jay,
If you are looking for U.S. made FG blanks, I can supply you with even better; NOS vintage (1960s) FG Conolon blanks. Not only were they manufactured here in the U.S.A. but by Conolon who invented tubular FG blanks using their ground-breaking knowledge from building missile bodies and lightweight aircraft parts for the military during WW2. Not only will they go head-to-head against any modern FG blank, but you will be fishing a part of history at the same time. I rarely use any of my store bought CF rods anymore in favor of the Fish Fighting Fun Factor the Conolons afford.

I was not aware of Conolon ever offering something like a 6 or 6.5 length 2wt that the customer was requesting. For a build like that, I would most likely check on a Steffen Bros blank

As far as I know, there are only 4 companies rolling FG Fly Rod Blanks in the USA.

Steffen Brothers, now owned by Shane Grey, Greywolf Products
McFarland Rod Co, Mike McFarland
Livingston Rod Co, Dusty Smith
North Fork Composites

I know Shane rolls a 6ft 2/3 weight, I have one from the Mark and Tim days, sweet rod.
McFarland does have some stuff shorter than 7ft, I have built on his 6-9 3wt, both in E and S2 Glass, nice blanks.
Livingston, right now I don't think he has anything shorter than a 7ft 3wt.
North Fork, I think their shortest blank is 7-6, not 100% on this.

Another option, CTS does make a nice 6-6 3wt, New Zealand company, quality stuff.
