Hello everyone, I hope you’re all enjoying the holiday season!
I seem to be having trouble finishing the tie off on my dragon scales… how does everyone here do it? Do you apply a thin coat and then apply the trim bands at the end? I always have the threads cutting between my dragon scale Metallic threads. Any insight is very appreciated! Re: Dragon Scale Finishing Trims Bands

My metallic overwrap will be in A thread. Cut off the tags of the under wrap scales a bit before the finish and complete the wrap, wrapping tight and burnishing. The tie offs are done in C. If I wrap tight enough with the metallic, the C won't slip in. But......I like to do inlays in the tie off and will often put a light coat of finish over the scale wrap first. I found that messing around with several different colors on the inlays just results in what you experienced. Re: Dragon Scale Finishing Trims Bands

Hey Grant,
Thanks for the insight. It seems like I'm going to just have to apply a light initial coat of finish because I am doing some decorative inlays on the tie offs in A size thread. I will do some experimenting on scrap blanks I have laying around. Happy holidays and tight lines. -Nikola Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
