Fishing Art Fly Rods

Does anyone have experience with the Fishing Art IGNUS or VENTUS R blanks made in Poland?

The VENTUS R is listed as Extra Fast and they tell me it likes "slightly heavier lines" which I read as "you have to use a line that is heavier than weight rating or go up a line weight.

The IGNUS is listed as Fast.

I am looking for a 9wt, which is the heaviest rod weight they make in these two series. I want to throw lines that are within the AFTMA ratings.

Thanks in advance.

Most all heavier weight fly rods are intended for casting longer distances and thus require heavier lines than the rod rating unless you are going to be holding a lot of line in the air and making very long casts.

I have no experience with those rods or their ratings but would suggest that if you want to fish standard 9-weight line then buy the 8-weight blank model.
