My experience with white thread is that it washes out easy when epoxy is applied, ie looses its brightness and becomes slightly translucent. What can be done to get a vivid white to make a nice contrast between other colors?
Thank you Re: Working with white thread

If using white nylon, apply CP. Or just use NCP white - it's brighter and a more true white anyway.

I have used a white India Ink pen to accomplish this. It will typically cover the existing color of tread (I have done red thread with white ink), I still put color preserver on it before applying the epoxy. The India Ink is color fast when you apply the epoxy. Nice thing is you don't have to change colors of thread and deal with that extra work with the trim band you are making. Proof Fly Fishing has a great tutorial on making white trim bands using an India Ink Marker. Re: Working with white thread

I will always use CP on white threads.....you may also use a paint pen or something similar to color a black or dark color blank in areas that you will be using white thread. Re: Working with white thread

If using white india ink you should consider doing a trial of the ink you are going to use. My experience with mine is that it will run if epoxy is applied directly to it. Re: Working with white thread

Always NOCP. And try size D for a more noticeable single trim ring. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
