Hi All-

For a while I've been looking for a used Sully rod wrappers, which is what I learned on and really like. I don't want to make my own (lazy). If anyone has one they'd be willing to part with, I would be grateful.

Chad,
If you want to build a rod, than go ahead and build the equivalent of a Sully rod wrapper. The exercise will help make you a better rod builder. It is pretty easy to make such a wrapper.

Be safe

I have one, not for sale, and do really like the design. Best wishes to you finding one. I thought they were still in business - apparently not?

I believe they still are available, Angler's Workshop and a bamboo shop have sold them for a long time. They are about two century's if I remember right.

OR:

[mudhole.com]

[mudhole.com]

--------------------------------------------
Or, buy one of these:
[mudhole.com]

Then build a free standing thread holder along with the tension device.

Make a few of these:

For the rod wrapper, simply take a pine 1x4 board - and drill a bunch of holes down the centerline of the board. Drill a matching hole in each of the rod stands and you have a wrapper. Just slide the thread stand along the back side of the board, and you can simply slide the thread tensioner along the back edge of the board to have a nice smooth working rod wrapper for about $20-$25.

The OP stated that he did not wish to build his own.

Chad,
I realize that you did not want to build a hand wrapper.

However, if you want to build rods, you will likely have all of the tools on hand to build a nice hand wrapper of your choice.

Just consider it another fishing rod and enjoy building the rod called a sully wrapper.

Take care
