Client looking for a 7' MF action MH power blank. He is casting a shrimp to redfish on 6lbs pound test. He wants a St. Croix or similar. Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

The American Tackle Bushido Light Saltwater series has a great blank that would be perfect for that application, the LS7/8-15. I have one set up with the Microwave 25's and it is a sweet setup!

I should think you'd have any number of choices.

That’s a great combination. I really like that set up with the G2 carbon fiber grips.

As another option, you could try one of the Rain Shadow popping rod blanks, immortal or revelation. They have a MF action and a soft tip that work well for casting live bait. I have not tried a Rod Geeks inshore C2 Blank, but they have a moderate action and might be closer to a St Croix model he was familiar with.

That type of rod is my bread and butter. The Bushido LS 8/15 is a good blank for that, but for me Matrix MA-MB7/8-14 way better for that application.

Hey Mark,

I use the Bushido LS7/8/15 for a variety of techniques in saltwater. It does taper ver fast towards the tip section and will sling a shrimp beautifully. Especially knowing that you customer will be using a very small diameter line it will cast even better. I have landed some monster redfish, snook, flounder, sea trout, with the occasional shark in the mix.
